Distribution of this "helmet set" is free, only when
this textfile remains enclosed in the ZIP.

       *****************************************************************

If you've got the 96' cars and drivers, and want to have the helmets to match, here it is !!!
This set is based on the great(and realistic) 96' car set from PK Arnall and Pieter van Dieren's "gp2set30.zip"

NOTE: The order of the helmets will match the drivers of this set
^^^^
INCLUDED IN THE ZIP FILE:
*************************

- "helmets1.bmp" (This is the bitmap file of the helmets/needs to be converted to "helmets1.jam"/ >If you've downloaded the jam file, no convertion is needed)

CHANGES MADE:
*************
NOTE: Some drivers occasionly make minor changes on their helmets, so they might slightly differ ^^^^ from the version you've seen. When possible,I tried to base my design on more than 1 pics.

- The order of the helmets match the 96 drivers(based on the set "gp2set30.zip)
- Colors and detailing enhanced on some drivers( Irvine/Herbert/Alesi/Schumacher)
- Most of the visors were slightly reduced
- "Visor stripes" were improved (colors/ lettering)
- Some decals were added or modified(although detailing is minimal due to the small size of the file) to represent mostly the tobacco sponsors("Marlboro" & "Mild Seven" drivers )

- The following drivers helmets were added:
>Pedro Paolo Diniz
>Ricardo Rosset
>Mika Salo
>Pedro Lamy
Giovanni Lavaggi
>Luca Badoer
>Andrea Montermini
>Nicola Larini (from when he raced Lamborghini's Modena Team/ he changed design often)
>Alessandro Nannini (from the last years he drove for Benetton)
>Marco Apicella (from when he raced European F3000)
>And of course, JACQUES VILLENEUVE
>(Sorry, I couldn't find Nakano's helmet...) :)
>THE LAST 3 HELMETS REMAINED INTACT

- Color changes are pretty limited by the palette of the game but the effect of the designs and color changes is still pretty realistic (You'll recognize your favorite drivers) :)

INSTALLATION:
*************

To convert "helmets1.bmp" to "helmets1.jam", you'll need Trevor Kellaway's gp2jam v2.0
(Juergen Hiller's "jamman" is a very easy way to use Trevor's great utility)
NB: Don't forget to have "helmets1.bmp" and a copy of "helmets1.jam" in the same directory before converting !

* Move or Copy "helmets1.jam" in C:\GP2\GAMEJAMS
* Move or copy "96_set.nam" in C:\GP2\GPSAVEs
(In the game, from the "Choose a driver" menu, load "96_set"

(C:\GP2 is referred as the default directory installation)

That's it...
**************************************************************************************

Enjoy your game!
And please try not to scratch them, it was hard to paint!!! :)
